Does your Brewer's Yeast contain sulphites?

Does your Brewer's Yeast contain sulphites?

We have used the same suppliers for several years and we can assure you, that there is no added sulphate in our Brewer's Yeast. Yeast naturally produces sulphite during fermentation. The sulphite can also originate from the molasses used, to produce the yeast and some may be retained during the process.

All amounts of sulphite tested, results in less than 10mg/kg, which according to Food Standards Australia New Zealand code (FSANZ) does not need to be declared. In saying this, we choose to declare this on our packaging to allow our customers to make an informed choice about their purchases.

We believe that other Brewer's Yeast products on the market, would also contain a similar trace of sulphite, however they may not declare this on the product packaging.
