Berkelo to General Wholefoods Pasta: What’s Changing?

Important Update: Berkelo Pasta is Becoming General Wholefoods

Why are Berkelo pasta products changing?
The pasta range is transitioning from Berkelo to General Wholefoods. As a result, customers will begin to see new branding, updated product names and, for some products, different pack sizes.

Has the pasta itself changed?
The change is primarily to the brand name, packaging and product naming. The producer describes the transition as a new name and look with the same great taste. The pasta continues to be made in Australia using certified sustainable Australian grains. The flour is traditionally stoneground, mixed with a sourdough culture, long fermented and slowly dried.

Is the new range still sourdough pasta?
Yes. Although “Sourdough Pasta” no longer appears in the product names, the pasta continues to be made using a sourdough culture and a long-fermentation process.

Which General Wholefoods product replaces my usual Berkelo pasta?

Wholewheat Shells and Emmer Twists do not have direct replacements.

Are there any new products available?
Yes. The General Wholefoods range introduces several new products and pack sizes:

When will General Wholefoods pasta become available?
The new General Wholefoods pasta range will be introduced while remaining Berkelo products are still available. During this transition period, customers may see both brands offered alongside each other.

What will happen to the Berkelo pasta range?
Berkelo pasta will remain available while existing stock lasts. Once a Berkelo product sells out, it will not be replenished and will progressively be replaced by the General Wholefoods range.
