Wholegrain Milling Organic Rye Flour Availability

Wholegrain Milling Organic Rye Flour Availability

Why is Wholegrain Milling Organic Rye Flour currently unavailable?

At the moment, Wholegrain Milling Organic Rye Flour is unavailable because Australian organic rye grain has been very difficult to source.

Our supplier, Wholegrain Milling, mills their flours from grain grown by Australian farmers. Unfortunately, due to the limited availability of Australian organic rye grain, they have not been able to secure enough supply to produce organic rye flour for the foreseeable future.

Organic rye has been particularly challenging to source recently, both in Australia and internationally, due to low crop availability and limited certified organic supply.

FAQ's

When will Organic Rye Flour be back in stock?

At this stage there is no confirmed date for the return of Wholegrain Milling Organic Rye Flour. We are actively searching for alternative sources of certified organic rye flour and will make it available again as soon as suitable organic grain can be secured.

Is there an alternative rye flour available?

Yes. While organic rye flour is unavailable, we are offering: Wholegrain Milling Sustainable Stoneground Whole Rye Flour 5kg

This flour is made from sustainably grown Australian rye grain and stone-milled by Wholegrain Milling in regional NSW. It offers the same rich rye flavour and versatility for baking breads, sourdough, crackers and other baked goods.

While it is not certified organic, it is produced using certified sustainable farming practices that support soil health, biodiversity and responsible land management.

Is sustainable rye flour similar to organic rye flour?

Yes. The sustainable rye flour performs very similarly in baking and has the same robust flavour and nutritional qualities expected from whole rye flour.

The main difference is the certification standard:

  • Organic – produced under certified organic farming standards.
  • Certified Sustainable – produced using regenerative and environmentally responsible farming practices.

Both options support healthier farming systems and high-quality flour production.

Will organic rye flour return in the future?

Yes — we fully intend to bring organic rye flour back into the range.

As soon as Australian organic rye grain becomes available again, or we secure a suitable alternative organic supply, we will resume stocking it.

Where can I buy the sustainable rye flour?

This is currently the best available option for customers looking for a high-quality Australian stoneground rye flour while organic supply is limited.
